Improving Your Skin

A few months ago, I realized that there were some big time issues with my skin. I was always breaking out, I felt like I was always dealing with dry skin, and I felt like my complexion was perpetually spotty. Fortunately, a friend of mine recommended a great dermatologist who really understood what I was up against. We met about once every few weeks for the first month or so, and then we transitioned into more of a maintenance routine. Now, I honestly feel like I have the best skin of my life, and it is all thanks to my dermatology team. This blog is all about improving your skin.

Looking For The Fountain Of Youth? How To Get Started Towards A Younger-Looking You

Since the days of Ponce de Leon, people have been searching for the fountain of youth. Today, the search still continues; maybe not with ships and grand adventures, but with everyday techniques designed to make people look and feel younger. If you've been looking for the treasured fountain of youth, so that you could turn back the hands of time, you're in luck. There are numerous ways you can restore your natural beauty, and take years off your appearance. Here are four ways for you to get started towards a new, younger you.

Create Better Sleep Habits

If you're tired of looking tired, it's time to take matters into your own hands. The best way to do that is by creating better sleep habits. If you're not getting a full eight hours of sleep each night, you're depriving your skin, and your body, of the time it needs to rejuvenate itself. You can create better sleep habits, and bring back that healthy glow to your skin, by adjusting your sleep clock. Begin by going to be earlier each night. Turn off the distractions, and begin relaxing about 30 minutes before you're ready to go to bed. Once you're in bed, resist the urge to watch television, or look at your phone. Continue doing this each night until you're able to get to sleep easily, and stay asleep for a full eight hours each night.

Start Your Meals Out Right

If you're not feeding your body properly, your skin is going to pay the price. Unfortunately, busy schedules can make it difficult to maintain a healthy diet. One way to tip the scales in your favor, is to start each of your meals out on the right foot. Begin each meal with an eight-ounce glass of water, and either a piece of fresh fruit, or a serving of fresh vegetables. This will ensure that you get at least 24 ounces of water each day, and three full servings of fresh vegetables or fruit. You'll feel better, and your skin will look better.

Focus on the Positive

You might not realize this, but each time you frown, tiny wrinkles form around your eyes, mouth, and forehead. Over time, those small wrinkles become permanently etched into your skin. You can help reduce those fine lines caused, by focusing on the positive. Spend time each day making yourself happy, and giving yourself something to smile about. Smiling uses the facial muscles that can give you a firmer, more youthful appearance.

Give Your Skin the Attention It Needs

If the natural approach to skin care isn't giving you the affects you want, talk to a dermatologist near you. There are many treatment plans available that can erase fine lines and wrinkles, and restore the fresh, healthy appearance of your skin. Botox injections are one of those treatment plans. Botox injections are virtually painless, can be done right in the doctors office, and will not require any recovery time. That means you can erase your wrinkles anytime you'd like.
